Spinner activity and record sheets which can be used at CL2-4 depending on the questions you ask and activities that you use with it.
Open the zip file for resources.
Start by showing the spinner and asking “What might happen, what will happen and what won’t happen?”
Get students to spin 24 times and see what happens (can record on tally sheet).
Compare with what they thought would/wouldn’t happen. Is it fair?
For CL4, you can get them to spin it twice and add their score. Predict what the most likely total will be.
Try it and record results and compare it with their prediction.
See if they can figure out the theoretical probability of each total.
Can then give the “Student results sheet” to fill in the table to find all possible outcomes and use fractions to describe the probabilities.
